oday we are doing some learning about the human ear. The package to complete can be downloaded below - use the textbook or suitable online sources to complete the sheet. Watch the two videos as well - they are very helpful.
oday we are going to determine the speed of sound experimentally. Our results should be with 5% of the actual value knowing the ambient air temperature and the equation for the speed of sound.
Today you will do a short research assignment on the speed of sound. You can use a cellphone, computer, or the textbook to find the answers. You will learn about sound in space (is there any?), the speed of sound in air and how it depends on temperature, the mach number, sound barrier, sonic booms, etc. Watch the videos below as well...
[we are doing this lesson a bit out of order because I am away - we will pick back up tomorrow with periodic waves and then move into sound next week and pick back up from here] Sonic Boom Watch planes breaking the sound barrier - listen for the loud "boom" and "why is there a vapour build up around the plane?"
Today we are extending our understanding of energy conservation and energy transformation to thermal energy and heat.Thermal Energy & Heat EnergyDownload the reading activity (textbook pages) or use the textbook in the classroom. It has information about the notes you should take about heat energy and thermal energy transfer.
Need help solving problems - all of the ways to use the equations and solve these types of problems are given in the video tutorials linked on the page below. HELP VIDEOS FOR SOLVING Q=MCDT PROBLEMS (ALL VERSIONS)
