What is Dynamics?Today we are going to start the next unit: Dynamics - "the study of why things move." The title page and introductory powerpoint are included below. Watch the documentary on Newton as well.
We are also continuing with the work and review for the kinematics test tomorrow. Be sure to complete the yellow sheet of questions and the package with 4 additional problems.

Acceleration of Gravity Lesson and Work PeriodToday we are doing a short lesson on the acceleration of gravity and then working on the kinematics problems that were handed out on Friday.
Today we are working on the kinematics problems (the hand-out with all the problems on it). You will use the kinematics equations to solve these problems.
Today we are doing an example of dropping or throwing objects into the air and doing calculations related to this knowing that the acceleration of gravity (for all objects regardless of mass) is 9.8 m/s/s. We will then perform a quick investigation to determine the height of an immeasurable height within the school using this technique.
Kinematics Equations - DevelopmentToday we are working on developing the 5 kinematics equations on your own. Tomorrow we will write out these five equations and also use them to solve problems. Kinematics ProblemsToday we will do some example problems of simple projectile motion (objects falling or being thrown vertically). We will also start the 15 question kinematics problems assignment. This comes in three parts. Part A are the basic types, Part B involve more thinking and Part C involve more complicated type problems. You are expected to solve all 15 in preparation for the upcoming evaluations. Today we will be investigating the Acceleration due to Gravity.
Today we are performing a uniform acceleration investigation. You can download the investigation sheet below.
